For jewellery that requires more than routine care, we also offer professional assessment, maintenance and restoration services, subject to the condition and nature of the piece.

Jewellery Care

Regular care begins with understanding your jewellery.

Different metals, gemstones, pearls, finishes and construction methods require different levels of care. What is appropriate for one piece may not be appropriate for another.

We encourage you to follow the care guidance provided with your jewellery and avoid exposing it unnecessarily to conditions that may affect its materials or finish.

Jewellery Health Check-Up

If you are unsure about the condition of your jewellery, you can have it professionally assessed.

Our Jewellery Health Check-Up includes an inspection of the overall condition of the piece, including where applicable:

• Metal and base
• Polish or finish
• Gemstones
• Pearls
• Stone settings
• Joints and components
• Strings and threading
• Other visible areas requiring attention

The purpose of the check-up is to understand the current condition of the jewellery and identify whether any maintenance, repair or restoration may be appropriate.

Jewellery Consulting

A jewellery assessment is not always the same as a repair requirement.

Following the health check-up, we can help you understand:

• The current condition of your jewellery
• Whether maintenance or repair is required
• What type of care may be appropriate
• How the piece can be maintained in the future
• Whether restoration is necessary or regular care may be sufficient

The objective is to help you make an informed decision about your jewellery rather than recommending unnecessary work.

Professional Cleaning

Jewellery may accumulate dust, residue and everyday buildup over time.

Where appropriate, professional cleaning can help restore the appearance of a piece.

The cleaning method will depend on the jewellery's materials, construction, gemstones, pearls and finish.

Not every jewellery piece can or should be cleaned in the same way.

Re-Polishing

Jewellery finishes can become dull or worn with use.

Where appropriate, re-polishing may help restore the appearance of a worn finish.

The possibility and extent of re-polishing will depend on the original finish, material, construction and current condition of the jewellery.

Pearl Restringing

Pearl necklaces and sets depend on their stringing for both appearance and structural support.

If the string has become weak, worn or damaged, restringing may be recommended after assessment.

This service is particularly relevant where continued use of an old or weakened string could increase the risk of damage or loss.

Loose-Stone & Setting Check

A gemstone may appear secure while its setting has gradually become loose through regular wear.

During assessment, we can inspect visible stone settings and identify signs that may require attention.

Where a setting appears weak or a stone is loose, appropriate repair or setting work may be recommended.

Minor Repairs

Some jewellery may require small repairs or adjustments rather than complete restoration.

Depending on the jewellery and its condition, minor repair work may include attention to small components, joints, settings or other areas requiring professional intervention.

All work is subject to assessment.

Restoration

Older, damaged or heavily worn jewellery may require more extensive restoration.

Restoration is approached according to the individual piece, its materials, construction, condition and the extent of work required.

Our objective is not simply to make an old piece look new.

Where possible, the character and identity of the original jewellery should be respected while addressing the areas that require attention.

No chargeable repair or restoration work is undertaken without customer approval.

06 — Service / Restoration

The approved work is carried out according to the agreed scope.

07 — Final Quality Check

The jewellery is inspected after the work is completed.

08 — Handover

The jewellery is returned to the customer.

About Pricing

We do not maintain a fixed price list for jewellery care and restoration services.

Every piece of jewellery is different.

The final quotation depends on:

Required work + jewellery condition + materials involved + complexity of the work

A Jewellery Health Check-Up therefore comes first, allowing us to understand the piece before recommending any paid service.

This approach allows us to assess each piece individually rather than applying the same service or charge to every jewellery item.
